How to Subscribe to Club Calendar
The video accessed by the button below explains how to subscribe to our Club's Google calendar so that Club-related events display on your personal Google calendar.
IMPORTANT:

This only works if you use Google Calendar. It does NOT work for other calendar platforms such as Outlook.

The tasks required to subscribe to a Google calendar CANNOT be done on a smart phone. It must be done on a computer. But once you have subscribed to the calendar, the Google calendar on your phone will show the events from the Columbus Garden Club calendar because it is your Google Account subscribing, not just your computer's Google calendar.
INSTRUCTIONS covered in video

On your computer, open your favorite browser such as Chrome, Firefox, Edge, or Safari.

Use your Google account (your gmail) to log into your Google calendar at https://calendar.google.com.

Cut and paste this link to the Columbus Garden Club/s public calendar (your you can just click this link): https://calendar.google.com/calendar/u/0/embed?src=hello@columbusgardenclub.org&ctz=America/Chicago

Click on the "Add to Google Calendar" button at the bottom left of the CGC calendar.

Another browser tab will open to your Google calendar and you must click the "Add" button that appears in the pop-up box.

Then the CGC events will be displayed in your calendar.
Additional Things to Know

If you see an error an event in the CGC calendar, email hello@columbusgardenclub.org the details of the event changes needed to let the Club's website and social media chair know.

To stop displaying the CGC calendar in your calendar but remain subscribed, look for the CGC calendar name in the left-hand menu (you may have to expand the left-hand menu to see it). Then click on the checkbox next to the CGC calendar name to uncheck it and the CGC events will disappear from your calendar until you check it again to display them.

Your Gmail email inbox will receive email notifications the day before the event IF the event is a club-wide event such as club meetings or a big event like Arbor Day or the Plant Sale. Other events such as workdays for various committees will not send you a notification.

BUT if you wish to get a notification for an event, you may add it to your calendar so that it is not just displayed from the CGC calendar but the event has actually been copied to your own Google calendar. To do this:

Click on the event you wish to copy to your calendar.

Click on the vertical 3 dots at the top of the event pop-up.

Select "Copy to ..." where ... will be the name you have on your calendar.

Then you can add notifications, add details, or even change the name of the event on your calendar. Once you are finished, click the Save button at top right. Then the event will be on your calendar, not just displayed from the CGC calendar.
