Scholarship Quilt Raffle
One of our talented and dedicated members, Sharon Heimann, caught the quilt-making bug only a decade ago, but her work is stunning and award-winning. Our club is very fortunate that she is so generous to purchase the materials and handcraft a stunning quilt each year for our raffle. Sometimes the quilt winner must wait to receive their quilt because the quilt is sometimes invited to enter the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo competition!
Members begin selling raffle tickets to family, friends, and local businesses in September through mid-December. The final raffle tickets are sold during the Christmas Tasting Luncheon where the lucky winner of the Scholarship Quilt is announced.
All proceeds from the quilt raffle sales goes directly into our Scholarship Fund to support local youth pursuing education beyond high school.
2023 Scholarship Quilt Raffle
Tickets are on sale from September through the Christmas Tasting Luncheon where the winner is announced.
Tickets are $2 each or a book of 6 tickets for $10. All proceeds go directly to local graduating seniors.

This year's quilt is a pattern is a study in extraordinary angles called Foothills Trails. The quilt is a king size with dimensions of 109" by 109". The quilt top is made from hand-dyed cotton batiks. Batik is quite difficult to work with requiring special needles and attention to the quilt-piecing making this quilt more valuable. The quilt is machine-stitched except for the binding that is hand-stitched A few pictures of the quilt are below, one with its maker, Sharon Heimann.
